NAFASI THE BLOG

There's still a little ways to go with bringing pieces back from the US, making some fixes to doors and lights, and making a few more custom pieces, but right now the house feels pretty darn good! This is the latest tour of our house before I leave for home. Enjoy! Welcome! Take a seat!  Come on in to the kitchen if you'd like... A little break from blogging and house renovations as well! Although things are still moving along pretty swiftly, and I can't wait show you all of the latest! But first, let me show you around our latest travels in East Africa. First up- Uganda! Patrick had a big Meetup for work in Jinja, and I was NOT about to let him white water raft down the Nile without me! So while he was busy at work all day, Loes and I explored Kampala and Jinja while getting into some mischief. A little work too. ;) (Just a little) We were wandering around the market in Kampala and found this great lighting store! Some really cool fixtures for not too expensive! A lot of it was imported from China. This man was THE best and friendliest and made me love Uganda.   Look at this place!! There's Loes helping me pick out my bathroom lights! Then we explored the Mosque where we had to cover up our hair and wrap skirts around our pants.  Some incredible architecture....

My client, Jessica, who you have seen on this blog post , is a great client, with a great before and after. We worked on her bedroom from the inside out. Her bedroom used to have too much of a dorm room feeling to it. With a little love we turned it into an age appropriate, fresh new space for her to relax when she gets home! Watch as this beige empty room becomes my own! Since these photographs, I have moved into the room next door and made some more adjustments. (Another blog on this to follow.) After I moved out my new roommate, Vicki, moved in and we're giving this space a whole new look! Think colorful, simple bare bones, and beachy. (Another post will follow on the 2nd transformation of this room as well!) One thing that remained throughout both rooms however is that awesome silver accent wall! And a NAFASI signature swag lamp! I love them. :) Stay tuned!
